While cold process soap as shampoo can effectively clean your hair, there may be a transition period for your hair to adjust. Cold process soap is alkaline and has a higher pH, while your hair and scalp itself are slightly acidic with a lower pH.

To rebalance pH, it is recommended to use a 50/50 apple cider vinegar and water rinse after washing with shampoo bar. Follow up the ACV rinse with a conditioner for additional nourishment to your hair.

Help your natural, handmade soap last longer with these simple tips: Avoid letting it sit in water and allow it to dry out between use. Store it in a well-ventilated, cool place. To further extend its life, use a soap dish with ridges that prevent water buildup underneath the bar.
